A Franklin, Tennessee Dream: Bridget & Porter’s Engagement Session

ree

When I first drove past this breathtaking farm in Franklin, Tennessee several years ago, I remember thinking, “This is the dream. I need to do a photoshoot here.” It had everything you could ever want in a quintessential Franklin setting: a beautiful barn, rolling pastures, white fencing, horses grazing in the distance, and light that just pours across the landscape.

So when Bridget reached out about planning an engagement session, and I looked up the address she sent, my heart skipped. It was THAT farm. I couldn’t believe it. It felt like something had come full circle. And being there with Bridget and Porter, camera in hand, was exactly as magical as I’d always hoped.

The day we shot was—let’s be honest—sweltering. But you would never know it looking at these two. Bridget and Porter were absolute troopers, not just powering through the heat, but laughing, glowing, and totally game for anything I threw their way. Their connection made every frame come alive.

As an avid reader, I have to say—half of these photos look like they belong on the cover of a novel. If I saw one of these on a bookstore shelf? Immediate purchase. Their chemistry is that captivating—sweeping, romantic, and somehow effortless.

Bridget, who grew up here in Franklin, wanted these images to reflect her home and the life she and Porter are building before heading off to tie the knot in Italy. And honestly? It was the perfect canvas. Every shot feels anchored in Southern charm and personal meaning.

And let’s not forget Bogey—the real star. Their dog brought so much personality to this session, and I love when couples include their pups. He understood the assignment and then some. Bogey was the sweetest boy, obviously thrilled for his parents' engagement.

Toward the end of the session, we spotted the sun shining oh-so-perfectly behind the American flag. Porter serves in the military, and as the golden light began to fall just right through the trees, I knew we had to capture a few portraits that honored that part of their story. The light caught the flag in a way that felt almost sacred.

These photos are some of my favorites—full of warmth, spirit, and soul. I couldn’t be more honored to have captured them.
