New York Life Political Leaders in DC

For over five years, I've had a blast capturing New York Life in action from Congressional and philanthropic receptions to corporate dinners and events. The New York Life Political Leaders' event was something a bit different but every bit as wonderful. Held at the historic Decatur House across the street from the White House, New York Life brought together members of their team who had traveled to DC to meet with their elected representatives on Capitol Hill.

Though I always arrive early to events to capture the details, I arrived REALLY early so I had an opportunity to explore the beautiful home, now a museum, the courtyard, and the exquisite decor from the NYL team. It was magical to take in the venue while the string quartet kicked off the cocktail hour and dinner with Bridgerton-esque covers of Top 40 hits.

One of my favorite moments at dinner was the recognition of a gentleman who had been with the company for sixty years. Yes, 6-0. He received a standing ovation!

Each course was paired with an ambiance change as the sky subtly transitioned from a bright blue to periwinkle—the string lights went from a delicate detail to the literal stars of the evening. Great company, food, venue, and evening overall!
